WhatsApp is working on a feature that will allow users to send messages on the platform using Ray-Ban Stories. All these messages are expected to be end-to-end encrypted.
When Meta (Facebook) launched Ray-Ban Stories in September last year, smartphones could only be used to record and share 30-second long videos in the Facebook app. Since then, the company has released several updates to the smart glasses, which have not only increased the video recording limit to one minute. Rather, it has also brought the ability to read and send messages and make voice calls using Messenger. A new report says that Ray-Ban Stories may soon be supported on Meta’s messaging app WhatsApp.

This is how the Ray-Ban Stories feature will work
Earlier this month, the blog site cited a code in the messaging app to say that thanks to the built-in assistant on Ray-Ban Stories, users would be able to send messages to their contacts via WhatsApp. In addition, the report also suggested that all messages and calls would be end-to-end encrypted, with WhatsApp not being read or heard. Using Ray-Ban Stories, WhatsApp users will be able to read text messages, send messages and make voice calls without having to type, as they do in the case of Messenger. For this feature, you will have to get Ray-Ban Stories Smart Glass.

Ongoing testing of this new feature
The blog site has told that the company can give this feature in an update very soon. A screenshot of the feature shows that WhatsApp will enable users to connect its platform to Ray-Ban Stories with the messaging app’s ‘Link a Device’ feature. This is the same feature used to connect a secondary device such as a laptop or tablet to the app. The company has said that this feature is still in development and it may take some time for Ray-Ban Stories and WhatsApp to get this update.
